One of the better know and very influential painters during the Great Depression was Jackson Pollock. Before he could make money off of his paintings, Pollock was funded by the Federal Art Project. Pollock is most know for being a forefather in american abstract painting (http://www.jackson-pollock.org/).

Would love to get more info from you, other than the fact that Pollock was simply funded by the government. Any knowledge that he or his art were otherwise affected by the GD? Also, it would really help if you posted the pictures on the blog, rather than simply providing links. And why not take the time to explain whey the latter is your favorite Pollock painting? FYI, I also really like his work. Makes me want to go to New York again soon.
